It’s been an ill-fated weekend for Michela Cerruti at the Nürburgring. Fielded once again by Walkenhorst Motorsport for the third round of the VLN series, which runs on the full layout of the German venue, the 28-year-old from Milan was prevented from taking part in the race despite a positive third place scored by the team in qualifying.
Due to a crash occurred to Michela’s team-mate Felipe Laser late in the session, their BMW Z4 GT3 was too damaged to be repaired immediately, and since the VLN series leaves only a short break between qualifying and the race, the Bavarian machine was withdrawn. Luckily, Laser did not sustain physical consequences.
Michela and her team-mates are already focused on the next round of the series to be held in two weeks.

“Unfortunately, following to a qualifying crash we were unable to take part in the race. The car was just too damaged to be repaired in one hour, and there was nothing we could do. The most important thing though is that Felipe is OK. Now we’re focused and determined to do well in the next round, scheduled in less than two weeks from now”
