The Blancpain Endurance Series is set for Round 2 of 2013 this weekend at Silverstone and Michela Cerruti is ready to be back in control of the ROAL Motorsport BMW Z4 GT3 at the historical British track. After having entered the fourth round of the FIA European F.3 Championship at Brands Hatch, the Milan-based female racer will be moving from Kent to Northamptonshire, on a well-suited course for the Bavarian-built machinery.
“Compared to Monza, the track is supposed to be more favourable for our BMW, which is also set for a 10-kilo break in terms of the BOP – said Michela – So in the UK we will be starting from a better position and we hope to get a little more lucky than in Monza. In the British GT round recently held at Silverstone a BMW cruised to win, so we have all what it takes to impress“.
After being off to a classy driving stint at Monza before a mechanical issue sent one of her team-mates in the barriers, Michela is looking forward to fight at the front end of a tight 60-car pack. Joining her on track will be the returning Stefano Comandini and multiple GT Champion Thomas Biagi.
“I’m very happy to meet Thomas, as his incredible level of experience makes me much more confident. We met during the preparations for this round at the simulator and he already explained me a couple of tricks for Silverstone. His speed and consistency will be a key addition to the team“.
The ROAL Motorsport drivers will also be supporting a good cause at Silverstone, as the car will bring on-track the Operation Smile logo. The association, which has Michela as a spokesperson, brings medical assistance to thousands of children in the most critical areas of the globe.
