Michela Cerruti scores class win, overall podium in VLN round 5

Michela Cerruti scored another high-profile result at the Nurburgring. The Italian female racer lined-up for the 5th round of the VLN championship and, after having cruised to a ground-braking win in the previous event, she was once again among the stars of the day together with team-mates Jesse Krohn and Felipe Laser.

Driving the #36 manufacturer-supported BMW Z4 fielded by team Walkenhorst, Michela delivered another win among the GT3 machinery, defeating the Mercedes and Porsche-powered opponents, and also ended up on the overall podium in third. And without a slight contact occurred to Laser in traffic, a second place could have been in the team’s frame.

This new and impressive outing lays great foundation for round 6 scheduled for August 22nd once again on the German venue’s full layout.

“We got off to a great start thanks to Krohn who brought our car to second place in qualifying. The race has been tougher as we had to battle with Porsche and Mercedes. We also tried to go for the overall lead, but the Ford GT had an impossible pace for the GT3 cars. Anyway we ended up third overall and winners in class. A really positive result!”
